The Albuquerque Journal, Albuquerque, New Mexico

These are three musicians who take the term American and turn it inside-out with their deft handle on what makes country, folk or bluegrass without firmly settling into one style. And most importantly they do it very well.

As if it weren't enough that guitarist Marisa Anderson and vocalist/harmonica player Sarah-Jane Moody write some of the best songs this side of the Telluride, their lyrics are a ride through the countryside so vivid you would swear the people they sing about are close aquaintances.
The Dolly Ranchers may not be stars, but they have produced one of the finest CDs to come from this state.

Hipfish, Astoria, Oregon

Inspired by the oral traditions of travelers, tramps, and hobos, the Dolly Ranchers hailing from Santa Fe, create a raw, dynamic and gritty old-time country. Vocalist and harmonica player, Sarah-Jame Moody, sings the visceral, poetic lyrics that reflect an adept joural writer getting down and dirty and telling it like it is. Her unusual and, at times, explosive voice, work the lyrics like a singer should over Marisa Anderson's old-time fingerstyle and flatpicking. Bassist Maria Fabulosa completes the trio's well crafted, rhythm and melodic ramblings of passion, whiskey, and hitchhicking the highways and byways of the soul."
